Day 1 – We visit Bury St Edmunds, an historic jewel in Suffolk’s crown. The city’s most famous landmarks include the impressive abbey ruins and their adjoining gardens, St Edmundsbury Cathedral and The Angel Hotel – a Georgian coaching inn frequently visited by Charles Dickens.

Day 2 – After breakfast we visit the magnificent Waddesdon Manor, managed by the Rothschild Foundation on behalf of the National Trust. It was originally built in the 1870’s in the style of a French Renaissance chateau for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild to house his superb collection of art treasures. Explore the Victorian style gardens, among the finest in Britain just as they begin to burst into blossoming works of art. Gaze at the flamboyant colours and discover the rare and exotic birds housed in the Rococo style aviary.
