During Your Stay
Day 1 – After our pick-ups we’ll visit Durham for a little free time. Home to one of the most recognisable landmarks in the UK, the majestic Durham Cathedral, together with adjacent Durham Castle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site forms one of the most stunning city panoramas in Europe. Later, we’ll continue to our 4-star hotel in Edinburgh.
Day 2 – Shortly after breakfast we travel to Stirling for free time. Stirling’s beautifully preserved Old Town is a treasure trove of historic buildings and one not to be missed – is the glorious Stirling Castle, this imposing fortress was one of Scotland’s most historically important sites. On our return to the hotel we’ll enjoy a photo stop at the impressive Kelpies – the world’s largest equine sculptures. Later, we’ll have time to freshen up before tonight's celebrations! Edinburgh’s Hogmanay festival has become one of the largest New Year celebrations in the world, with events happening all over the city including a torchlight procession, live music concerts, a street party, traditional dancing and fireworks – this is sure to be a night you’ll never forget!
Please note: coach transport to/from central Edinburgh will not be provided due to the traffic delays on New Year's eve. The Edinburgh Park Central Tram stop is a 15 minute walk from your hotel and offers free transportation between midnight on 31st December and 5 am on 1st January as part of Edinburgh's Hogmanay Celebrations.Passengers will be provided with a 1-way tram ticket from the Hotel to Central Edinburgh and escourted by a Skill srepresentative. Passengers returning on the tram before midnight on 31st December will be required to cover for the cost of the journey at their own expense. This offer is provided by Edinburgh Trams and could be withdrawn at any time subject to the provider's discretion. Skills Holidays will not be responsible to their passengers to cover any costs incurred as a result of the offer's withdrawal.
Day 3 – After a relaxing morning, this afternoon we travel back to Edinburgh for free time. Before that, our experienced driver will take you on a scenic drive through The Forth Bridge. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge across the Firth of Forth and is considered the symbol of Scotland. (Please note, shops may not be open today).
Day 4 – After a fantastic stay we return home.
