COWES
(HALF DAY): This morning we visit Cowes, located on the very northern tip of the Isle of Wight, Cowes is a Mecca for yachtsman, home to the oldest and biggest sailing regatta in the world and during the sailing season the waterfront is a kaleidoscope of colourful sails. The town has its own small shopping centre, lively marina and seafront promenade, with fine Solent views. NB. Alternatively, you can join us for an *optional excursion to Osborne House.
OSBORNE HOUSE
(*OPTIONAL HALF DAY): : Queen Victoria's Osborne House seaside palace where she often visited with her beloved Prince Albert and their nine children. Take an intimate glimpse into Queen Victoria's family life as you tour the nursery and private rooms of the Royal couple. Marvel at the magnificence of the Royal Apartments including the drawing and dining rooms and step out onto Queen Victoria's private beach (a pleasant 20-minute stroll from the palace). NB. This would be in place of the morning excursion to Cowes.
SHANKLIN
(HALF DAY) The seaside resort of Shanklin, with its long sandy beach it is one of the most popular destinations on the island set against the dramatic sandstone cliffs.
ISLAND TOUR
(FULL DAY): Our first destination today is Newport, located in the centre of the island it is often referred to as its capital. The historic town centres on two elegant squares with Georgian and Victorian architecture surrounding them. We continue to the iconic Needles returning via a visit the Isle of Wight Pearl, home to an unmissable collection of pearl jewellery.
Royal Esplanade Hotel ***, Ryde
Situated on Ryde Esplanade, on the Isle of Wight, a short walk from the beach. Royal Esplanade Hotel boats views of the Solent. The Grade II Victorian building features a terrace, restaurant and free Wi-Fi is available.
