JACOBITE RAILWAY
(FULL DAY): We travel to Fort William, where we will join the Jacobite Steam Railway to Mallaig - described as the 'Greatest Railway Journey in the World!' This section of the West Highland Line crosses the mighty Glenfinnan Viaduct, which was used in the Harry Potter films. At the end of the line, we will arrive in Mallaig with some free time to explore before the return train journey. The busy fishing port of Mallaig is home to many shops, bars, restaurants and plenty of fish and chips shops!
LOCH TUMMEL
(HALF DAY) This morning we enjoy a scenic excursion exploring Loch Tummel with a visit to Queen's View on the eastern edge, Highland Perthshire's most iconic view said to have been named after Queen Victoria following her visit in 1866. Enjoy stunning views from the visitor centre of the loch and beyond to the iconic Schiehallion. This is one of the most photographed areas in Scotland - don't forget your camera! We return back to the hotel for the afternoon at leisure.
BALMORAL CASTLE
(HALF DAY): Located in Royal Deeside, Balmoral Castle is one of two personal and private residences owned by The Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852. Admission includes access to the grounds, formal and vegetable gardens, exhibitions as well as the largest room in the Castle, the Ballroom. We also stop briefly in the picturesque village of Braemar, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.
Centrally located in the beautiful Victorian Town of Pitlochry in the Perthshire Highlands. The spacious bedrooms each feature a TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
