JACOBITE RAILWAY
(FULL DAY): We travel to Fort William, where we will join the Jacobite Steam Railway to Mallaig - described as the 'Greatest Railway Journey in the World!' This section of the West Highland Line crosses the mighty Glenfinnan Viaduct, which was used in the Harry Potter films. At the end of the line, we will arrive in Mallaig with some free time to explore before the return train journey. The busy fishing port of Mallaig is home to many shops, bars, restaurants and plenty of fish and chips shops!
CAIRNGORMS
(HALF DAY): Do not forget your camera today as our experienced driver takes us on a scenic drive around Cairngorms National Park. The UK's largest National Park is situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and offers spectacular scenery with towering mountains, sparkling lochs and rivers and plenty of wildlife! We visit Aviemore, located in the north west corner of the Cairngorms National Park this town is surrounded by lush Highland scenery making it the perfect destination to watch the world pass you by.
ROYAL PALACES
(HALF DAY): APRIL DEPARTURE ONLY Located in Royal Deeside, Balmoral Castle is one of two personal and private residences owned by The Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852. Admission includes access to the grounds, formal and vegetable gardens, exhibitions as well as the largest room in the Castle, the Ballroom. We also stop briefly in the picturesque village of Braemar, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.
AUGUST + SEPTEMBER DEPARTURES Scone Palace has many Royal connections and was the crowning place of several Scottish kings including Mabbeth, Robert the Bruce and Charles II. With admission included to the beautiful gardens and the palace itself including the State Rooms where Queen Victoria was entertained on her way to the Highlands in 1842.
Centrally located in the beautiful Victorian Town of Pitlochry in the Perthshire Highlands. The spacious bedrooms each feature a TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
