Today we visit the charming seaside resort of Wells-next-the-Sea. After some free time to explore the narrow lanes with chic shops, eateries and art galleries, we board the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway, the world’s smallest public railway, for a nostalgic journey amidst beautiful countryside and wildlife. We are accompanied by the unmistakable sound and smell of steam travel en route to Walsingham, one of the most extraordinary villages in the British Isles, steeped in history with its collection of rare half-timbered medieval buildings and considered a holy pilgrimage place for more than 1,000 years. There will be free time to explore the village, a beautiful and quiet place that’s home to a ruined abbey, an Orthodox church, and several shops that sell religious mementos, before returning to the hotel.
