Visits to York, Bamburgh, Holy Island & Durham
Scenic drive along the Durham Heritage Coast with visits to Seaham
Day 1
We travel to York for free time in the most this beautifully preserved medieval city, a must-see for everyone.
DDay 2
This morning we visit Bamburgh; a beautiful coastal town set in the heart of Northumberland which is most famous for its striking castle and Northumberland’s finest sausage ‘The Bamburgh Banger’! This afternoon, we have arranged a trip over to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne*. Lying just off the Northumberland Coast, Holy Island, as seen on Robson Green’s Tales from Northumberland, is a picturesque, unspoilt village that is cut off twice-daily from the rest of the world by fast-moving tides. (*tides dependent)
B, DDay 3
This morning we take you on a journey along the Durham Heritage Coast – one of the finest coastlines in England – as we make our way to the lively harbour town of Seaham. Here, we suggest visiting the Seaham Harbour Marina, or perhaps grabbing an ice cream and walking along the coastal footpath enjoying breath taking views. We return to the hotel for the afternoon at leisure.
B, DDay 4
This afternoon we visit Durham for free time. In this “perfect little city” you can shop for gourmet treats, locally produced food or find a charming café and watch the world go by.
B, DDay 5
We return home.
