Day 1
This morning we drive north for a visit to the ‘must see’ market town of Barnard Castle, voted one of the top 10 ‘Best Small Towns in the UK’ by The Guardian. After some free time here, we continue through the rugged terrain of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to our hotel.
DDay 2
This morning we have an official guided tour of Catherine Cookson Country for a fascinating insight of the areas associated with the late author including her birthplace of South Shields and the places featured in her best loved novels, driving along the coast road towards Marsden. Later this afternoon, we return home.
