BATH & MARLBOROUGH
(FULL DAY): We visit the ancient Roman city of Bath, famous for its elegant buildings, including the Royal Crescent, which have appeared in countless TV and film sets, such as Jane Austen's Persuasion. As well as being famous for its natural hot springs, it offers a diverse range of restaurants and independent shops. We also visit the thriving market town of Marlborough, situated in the picturesque rural north-east of Wiltshire in the North Wessex Downs, designated and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The HIgh Street is one of the widest in the UK and lined on both sides with characterful old buildings housing an array of high-quality shops.
SWINDON
(FULL DAY): At leisure to explore the diverse attractions the Wiltshire town has to offer, from a vast range of shopping opportunties including the Designer Outlet, to STEAM the Museum of the Great Western Railway, referred to by historians and railway enthusiasts as 'God's wonderful railway'.
HIGHCLERE CASTLE
(FULL DAY): Probably best known as the Edwardian country home featured in the hit TV series "Downton Abbey," this enormously successful drama series has over 11 million viewers in the UK. Highclere Castle has been home to the Carnarvon family since 1979, and the present-day Castle was designed in 1842 by Sir Charles Barry, the architect also responsible for building the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. We have included admission into the Castle, grounds and the popular Egyptian Exhibition - where you can discover the fascination connection with ancient Eqypt, as the 5th Earl, along with Howard Carter, discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922.
Located on Fleming Way, Jurys Inn is a short walk from the town centre and boasts a contemporary restaurant, bar and stylish guestrooms.
