DAY 1 (TUESDAY)
Enjoy a leisurely journey as we travel through Europe making an overnight stop.
DAY 2 (WEDNESDAY)
We continue to Hotel Splendid Sole in Manerba del Garda. On arrival here, there will be a welcome drink to enjoy.
DAY 3 (THURSDAY)
After breakfast we will enjoy visits to beautiful Riva del Garda a bustling town located on the northern end of Lake Garda. With mountains rising either side, Riva del Garda offers a charming place to sit back and relax in the town's harbour or park. From here we include a lake cruise to Limone, the Italian word for lemon and this shore of Lake Garda was once renowned for growing lemons and other citrus fruits. The heart of the old town is the harbour, Porto Vecchio. From here you can explore narrow lanes lined with shops, picturesque waterfront terraces and plenty of places to eat.
DAY 4 (FRIDAY)
Discover your resort of Manerba del Garda, Lake Garda's largest town, in your own time today. The lakefront, which has fantastic views to the Alps, is full of cafés, bars and "gelaterie!"
DAY 5 (SATURDAY)
After breakfast we travel to Verona, the Medieval Italian city that was Shakespeare's setting for Romeo & Juliet. Spend the morning exploring the remarkable sights including the magnificent Piazza Bra and its incredible Roman amphitheatre or enjoy a little shopping in the Via Mazzini.
DAY 6 (SUNDAY)
Join us today for an optional excursion to the ancient city of Venice, home of Casanovo and Marco Polo. The historically important city was originally built on 100 small islands in the Adriatic Sea. Explore the incredible architecture and history by visiting the splendid Piazza San Marco, the world-renowned Grand Canal thoroughfare and the Bridge of Sighs. A 2 hour walking tour with guide is included
DAY 7 (MONDAY)*
Today we visit the Santuario Madonna della Corona, a spectacular church that is said to be suspended between heaven and earth. Overlooking the lush Adige valley, the sanctuary is nestled into the rocky cliff of Monte Baldo. Sitting on a thin shelf of rock the church seems to float in mid-air.
*From coach drop off there is a 20 minutes' walk. There are regular shuttle buses (small charge) running up the hill. From the shuttle bus drop off there is another 800m uphill walk to get to the church. Please note: This excursion is not suitable for passengers with restricted mobility as there are a lot of steps involved.
DAY 8 (TUESDAY)
We return to our overnight hotel for a bed and breakfast stay this evening.
DAY 9 (WEDNESDAY)
We retrace our footsteps home.
Located close to the Natural Park of Manerba del Garda and the lake shore. Our hotel offers modern accommodation with a wellness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, and hot tub. Guest rooms feature balconies, free Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
