Day 2
After breakfast we depart our Ayrshire hotel to catch the ferry to Arran. On arrival we have some free time in the island's capital of Brodick before we board the coach again for a tour of the Island often referred to as "Scotland in Miniature", taking in the coastal communities of Lamlash, Whiting Bay and Blackwaterfoot. Late afternoon we board the ferry from Lochranza to Cloanaig on the Mull of Kintyre and drive along Loch Fyne to the Grey Gull Hotel for the next 2 nights.
Day 3
A long but rewarding day starts this morning as we board another ferry at Kennacraig for a full day excursion to the Isle of Islay. Here we will visit Bowmore, the island's capital with it's round church where spirits have nowhere to hide!! We also experience spirits of another kind with our included whisky distillery tour and tasting today. Later we catch the ferry back to the mainland with dinner included on board ship before a late arrival back at the hotel.
Day 4
This morning we enjoy a scenic drive through the Highland countryside via Inverary and Loch Awe en route to Oban for some free time. Continuing Via Fort William and the 'Road to the Isles' we call at the Glenfinnan Monument at the head of Loch Shiel for a photo opportunity before boarding the ferry from Mallaig to take us 'Over the sea to Skye' and the Kings Arms Hotel where we are based for the next 2 nights.
Day 5
Today we have arranged a full day exploring Skye's wealth of history from Jacobite battles to feuding clans. The island is abundant in wildlife and the scenery ever changing from the patchwork of velvet moors to Jagged mountains and towering sea cliffs. We visit the island's capital of Portree and Dungevan Castle - home of the Macleod clan for over 800 years and boasting coastal views of the Cullins.
Day 6
We depart Skye this morning continuing through Glen Shiel with the Five Sisters mountains towering above and along the Great Glen to Fort William for a lunchtime stop. From here we drive through Glencoe and the 'Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond', the Queen of Scottish Lochs to our final overnight in the Trossachs.
