Day 1
We begin our journey to Ilfracombe.
DDay 2
After breakfast we enjoy a scenic journey around Exmoor National Park – the perfect introduction to the area! Throughout the day we will make stops in Simonsbath and Exford. These delightful villages lie in the heart of Exmoor’s moorland. We also visit Dunster, probably the largest and most intact medieval village in England! Dominated by Dunster Castle (whose origins go back 1,000 years), the town has a wealth of history to discover, including the remains of a Benedictine priory. We return to our hotel this afternoon via the charming fishing port of Lynmouth, explore its rows of charming fishing cottages and shops that cluster around the pretty harbour of gently bobbing boats.
B, DDay 3
Explore Ilfracombe in your own time today. The pretty seaside resort is home to a small working harbour and some great attractions, all within walking distance! Why not visit the award-winning Ilfracombe Aquarium, the fascinating Ilfracombe Museum or take a refreshing walk around the town’s unique Tunnel Beaches – the four tunnels with unspoiled beach and rock pools originates from Victorian times.
B, DDay 4
Today we visit to the ancient port of Bideford with time for sightseeing before continuing to the ancient and thriving market town of Barnstaple, the main town of north Devon. Located on the River Taw, Barnstaple offers a partly pedestrianised centre and is home to many fine buildings and attractive narrow streets for you to explore.
B, DDay 5
We retrace our footsteps home.
