From here we continue to our hotel nestling in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, set in 30 acres of gardens and woodlands that include the historic Dolbadarn Castle, in the village of Llanberis where a warm 'Croeso i Gymru' awaits with tea or coffee on arrival.

Day 2

After breakfast we visit Portmeirion with admission included into this unique village. Situated on a private peninsula overlooking stunning coastal scenery, this Italian style village was built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis and is now one of Wales' most popular tourist destinations. This afternoon we travel to Porthmadog where we have arranged a journey on the Ffestiniog Railway to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Travelling through the glorious Snowdonia National Park, experience the magnificent scenery in comfort whilst savouring the romance of gleaming steam engines and carriages!

Day 3

Enjoy a day at leisure in Llanberis, sitting at the foot of Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales. The base station for the railway to ascend it heights, is a stone's throw from our hotel - you can travel to the summit of the highest mountain in England and Wales on the UK's only rack railway allowing visitors to enjoy stunning views and awe-inspiring scenery as it makes its way up Snowdon (pre-booking recommended - not included). This evening a glass of wine is included with dinner.

Day 4

This morning we visit the charming seaside resort of Barmouth, where the mountains and the sea meet making it one of the most beautiful locations in Wales! Later, we continue our journey through west Wales via Aberystwyth to our hotel in Carmarthen on the banks of the River Tywi which runs from the Black Mountains down into Carmarthen Bay, reputed to be the birthplace of the legendary wizard Merlin and has the distinction of being Wales' oldest town. On arrival there will be tea and coffee waiting for us before dinner and during our stay there will be an evening of entertainment. Guests can also enjoy free use of the hotel's leisure facilities, which include a sauna.

Day 5

This morning we visit Picton Castle & Gardens, Pembrokeshire's finest stately home surrounded by 60 acres of some of the most beautiful woodland gardens and grounds in West Wales, for a guided tour. Built in the 13th Century, it has one of the largest collections of cultivated plants in West Wales, where exotic species co-exist with native flora. It is also home to the Welsh Owl Garden and zoo, housing over 25 species of owls and exotic birds as well as many other mammals and reptiles. This afternoon we travel to Tenby, a delightful little harbour town and seaside resort for some free time to explore. Probably the most iconic and well-visited seaside town in Wales, it is steeped in ancient history and surrounded by an imposing 13th century castle walls.

Day 6

After breakfast we travel to cosy but cosmopolitan Mumbles, full of local character and charm, famous as the birthplace of Dylan Thomas and home to a broad range of quirky shops, a Grade II listed pier and and arguably the worlds' best ice cream! Here, we will be joined by a knowledgeable guide, for a tour of the Gower Peninsula, the most westerly part of the historic county of Glamorgan and the first area in the United Kingdom to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with cliffs and woodlands ringed by sparkling beaches. Afterwards, we will return to the Heritage Centre to enjoy a traditional cream tea.
