Take the East Hill up to Hastings Country Park or the West Hill Lift to the ruins of Hastings Castle. We also visit Rye, home to a myriad of art, curiosities and cosy pubs, as well as modern boutique hotels and contemporary restaurants serving the best Sussex has to offer, from land and sea.
EASTBOURNE

The Eastbourne Lifeboat Museum and the Winter Gardens are a leisurely walk away or perhaps you would prefer to take a ride on Eastbourne's Miniature Steam Railway.
BEACHY HEAD,
ALFRISTON & LEWES (OPTIONAL FULL DAY): We travel via Beachy Head, famous for its spectacular white cliffs and dramatic coastline created by the Seven Sisters landmark. After a photo opportunity we head to Alfriston & Lewes. Alfriston is a must-visit village said to be one of the most visited destinations in the country. The beautiful country town of Lewes. Although surrounded by chalk cliffs, the townscape of medieval streets and tiny 'twittens' is dominated by the remains of a Normal castle and is also home to the handsome townhouse of Anne of Cleves (fourth wife of King Henry VII).
The Afton Hotel is located on the seafront, opposite the pier and Carpet Gardens, with a level walk to the promenades and shopping centre, just a 2-minute walk away.
