DAY 1
Put on your favourite Christmas jumper today as we head to the wintery wonderland of the Cotswolds, where we enjoy visits to Bourton-on-the-Water and Broadway. Regularly voted as one of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton's seasonal attraction is its twinkling Christmas tree which stands proudly in the centre of the village, reflecting gracefully in the River Windrush. After some free time, we have arranged light refreshments including a hot drink and mince pies for you to enjoy before travelling to our hotel this afternoon.
DAY 2
Today we explore the enchanting Wye Valley, naturally decorated for festivities with its miles of frosted woodland, pine trees, mistletoe and holly. Our first destination is the riverside market town of Ross-on-Wye. Lined with Tudor buildings, its delightful streets have remained unchanged since medieval times. We then continue to Symonds Yat, a picturesque village which straddles the River Wye, where you can see the impressive deep gorge and 'cliff faces' before we move on to Monmouth, a pretty Welsh border town. Later, we make a stop at Chepstow, a historic market town dating back to Norman times, that overlooks the Severn Estuary.
DAY 3
After an enjoyable stay we return home with a visit to Worcester, best known for its magnificent cathedral, which rises majestically above the city.
The contemporary-style Holiday Inn Newport hotel provides well-appointed rooms in a welcoming environment, offering guest rooms with free Wi-Fi, en-suite bathrooms with complimentary toiletries and flat-screen cable TVs.
Each evening you can unwind with a drink in the welcoming Harpers Bar, planning your next days activities, before choosing from the tempting menu of freshly-prepared cuisine in Harpers Restaurant.
