DAY 1

We begin our journey to our overnight hotel.

DAY 2

We travel to our hotel, located on the outskirts of Vienna. A warming schnapps awaits our arrival.

DAY 3

After a leisurely morning, enjoy a guided walking tour of Austria's elegant capital, Vienna, ending at the beautiful "St. Stephen's" Cathedral in the city center. Afterwards, perhaps explore the beautiful Christmas markets. Later, we return to our hotel for a typical Austrian Christmas dinner.

DAY 4

(CHRISTMAS DAY): Merry Christmas or 'Frohe Weihnachten' as the locals say! After exchanging gifts this morning a traditional 'Austrian-English style' turkey lunch will be served at a typical Viennese restaurant. We return for the afternoon at lesiure back at our hotel, where dinner will be provided later this evening.

DAY 5

This morning we explore the beautiful Vienna Woods, a favourite retreat of composer Beethoven. Highlights include the Abbey at Heiligenkreuz (with entrance included), and the famous Mayerling Hunting Lodge. We continue to the spa town of Baden before the next highlight of the day: an audio-guided tour of the majestic Schönbrunn Palace! A mind blowing experience with a truly royal atmosphere. Afterwards enjoy a stroll through the Christmas market in front of the palace. The tour then takes you via the High Road around Vienna, with a scenic stop overlooking Vienna, to Klosterneuburg. This beautiful little town is famous for its breath- taking Abbey. This evening we visit Grinzing, the famous wine area of Vienna, to enjoy a tasty dinner, with a glass of wine included

DAY 6

Enjoy free time today. After breakfast perhaps visit Austria's biggest shopping centre, the SCS, with 330 shops, it is located directly opposite our hotel. Or, you may wish to simply relax and take advantage of the hotels excellent leisure facilities, including a large spa with indoor pool and a spa lounge. This evening there will be a farewell dinner at the hotel.

DAY 7

We wave goodbye to Vienna and start our journey to our overnight hotel.

DAY 8

We retrace our footsteps home.
