Berkshire & the Royal Windsor Steam Express

Day 1

We travel to our hotel via the rolling Chiltern Hills, with a visit to the Georgian market town of Marlow, set amongst the rich meadows of the river valley. the vibrant town is made up of historic streets and an abundance of boutique shops, restaurants, cafes, and bistros and is without a doubt one of the loveliest locations on the River Thames! After some free time, we continue to our hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast we travel to Waterloo Station in central London to meet the Royal Windsor Express - the first ever regular steam train service from London to Windsor. Sit back in your elegant 1950s or 1960s Pullman carriages for 90-minute nostalgic steam journey, evoking memories in true Agatha Christie style with brunch and a glass of bubbly served on board. Enjoy the scenery as our train leaves London, passing iconic landmarks including the London Eye and Big Ben, before the landscapes open up, becoming ever greener as we are treated to views across woodlands, rivers, and lakes. Our journey ends at the Grade II listed Windsor & Eton Riverside Station in Windsor, the beautiful Berkshire town synonymous with the Royal Family where we enjoy a little free time in the town dominated by its magnificent castle, a favourite weekend retreat of Her Majesty The Queen and a pretty center full of traditional shops and pubs. We begin our journey home mid-afternoon.
