In a tented village at Hay-on-Wye, on the edge of the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Between Hereford and Brecon just off the A438.

For 11 days a year many thousands of people come from all over the UK, Europe, America and the rest of the world to join a carnival celebration of ideas and stories at the Hay Festival.
The programme of some six hundred events (including two free days for schools and a parallel programme for children and families, called HAYDAYS) takes place in the tented festival village during the spring bank holiday. Writers, politicians, poets, scientists, comedians, philosophers and musicians come together on the greenfield site to talk, eat, think, drink and be merry.

(There is no charge for entrance to the festival site; you buy tickets only for the events you want to see.
You can buy tickets online,
https://www.hayfestival.com/m-127-hay-festival-2018.aspx?skinid=1&currencysetting=GBP&localesetting=en-GB&resetfilters=true
or select the events you wish to attend and call the Box Office on 01497 822 629.
Events will sell out and booking can be competitive. If you sign up to our mailing list or become a Friend (where you receive priority booking) we can let you know immediately when tickets are released.
The full programme, approximately 600+ events, is not normally released until the beginning of April; we do, however, release some 'earlybird' tickets sooner. These are selected highlights to whet your appetite and will often sell out by the time the full programme is released.)

Passengers please note - Late return.
Coach takes you to the event only - There still will be things for you to do on arrival - food, music and events but if you wish to specificially see a celebrity talk or witness poetry reading you need to pre book your own ticket online before hand
