BAKEWELL & MATLOCK

Matlock is a unique village nestled in the Derbyshire countryside situated alongside the river Derwent. With attractive riverside gardens, museums, amusements and tea rooms this has been a popular tourist destination since the late 17th century when the spa waters were discovered.

A few villages away lies Bakewell , set on the banks of the river Wye in the Peak District.  Surrounded by stunning countryside views this historic market town attracts visitors year after year and of course no trip would be complete without buying a Bakewell tart or two.

TWYCROSS ZOO

Twycross zoo is a great day out for the whole family.  Set in around 80 acres of land, it is home to around 900 animals.  Lots of exciting changes have been happening at the zoo recently including the new meerkat exhibit which is now twice as big as their previous home.  You can now get closer than ever before through brand new floor length glass viewing panels giving an amazing view of these fascinating animals.

We head to Filey to spend a few hours free time here.
