Autumn is a beautiful time for discovering the Lake District, experience the splendour and beauty of England’s largest National Park. On this break we include a must-do journey on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway as well as trips to Skipton, Lake Windermere, Bowness, Muncaster Castle and the World of Beatrix Potter.

Day 1 – After our departure we travel to Skipton for free time, awarded Best Small Outdoor Market in 2017 perhaps visit Skipton’s famous market situated on the High Street in the town centre. After some free time, we continue to our hotel.

Day 2 – This morning we visit Muncastle Castle, one of Britain’s most haunted castles! Set in 77 acres of woodland and gardens enjoy a wander around the Castle and gardens before heading to the Hawk and Owl Centre. Later today we also enjoy a journey on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, one of the oldest and longest narrow gauge railways in England, known affectionately as La’al Ratty meaning ‘little railway’ in olde Cumbrian dialect.

Day 3 – Enjoy today at leisure, set in 20 acres of private gardens and woodlands relax in the comfort of the hotel which overlooks Morecambe Bay. Or why not step out for a brisk walk along the beach, which is a short walk away and stop off in a local pub.

Day 4 – Today we have planned an excursion to the glistening shores of Lake Windermere, where we have included entrance to the World of Beatrix Potter. Afterwards enjoy free time in Bowness, located right in the heart of the National Park it is one of Cumbria’s most popular destinations!

Day 5 – After breakfast we travel home via Lancaster.
