DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Our first stop today is Cambridge; perhaps take this opportunity to enjoy a leisurely break in a charming tea room or quaint coffee shop, spilling out onto the bustling Market Square. After some free time, we travel to our hotel.
Day 2 – We visit Canterbury, this afternoon we have arranging a relaxing cruise on the River Stour – flowing through the heart of historic Canterbury, this is the perfect way to escape the crowds and enjoy some of Canterbury’s most stunning and important architectural highlights.
Day 3 – After a leisurely morning, we take you to Whitstable; this traditional seaside town is perhaps most famous for its oysters, which remains an intrinsic part of the town’s character and are even celebrated!
Day 4 – Today we visit Chatham Docks, where our very own ‘midwife’ will greet us on the Second World War Destroyer HMS CAVALIER to begin our “Call the Midwife Tour.” The midwife will take you on a guided tour of the various film locations used in the hit BBC Drama. The Historic Dockyards authentic cobbled streets, industrial buildings and fine Georgian and Victorian architecture have provided the backdrop for an array of period films since the 1980s after your guided tour follow the special film train to some of the most frequently used sites and see if you can spot where the 2013 movie adaptation of Les Miserables starring Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe was also filmed here.
Day 5 – After a leisurely break we return home.
