TOWNS OF NORMANDY 2017

Caen, in Normandy is one of the oldest university towns in France. Bustling with activity it is a vibrant and attractive city on the River Orne, with great past connections to William the Conqueror. On this break we also include visits to Bayeux, Lisieux and Trouville.

DURING YOUR STAY

Day 1 – We cross the channel via ferry and continue to the hotel in Caen, France.

Day 2 – Excursion to Bayeux, dominated by a Cathedral and historic reminders of William the Conqueror’s reign, visit the Bayeux tapestry which tells the story of the Normal conquest of England in 1066. Later enjoy free time in Caen, visit the last resting place of William the Conqueror at the fairytale ‘Abbaye aux Hommes’ or explore ‘Chateau de Caen’ an 11th Century castle that is now home to the Musée de Normandie which explores the region’s impressive history.

Day 3 – Today we take you to Lisieux, considered to be the second most important pilgrimage town in France and dominated by grand Cathedrals. Afterwards we visit Trouville, a beautiful seaside town renowned for its glamorous buildings and villas.

Day 4 – We travel home.
