DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – After our departure we visit Durham home to one of the most recognisable landmarks in the UK: Durham Cathedral. After some free time we enjoy a short photo stop at the Angel of the North and continue to our hotel for 4 nights’ dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2 – Today we visit Roman Vindolanda, lying in the beautiful landscape of Hadrian’s Wall Country, Vindolanda is one of Europe’s most important Roman archaeological sites and home to Britain’s ‘top treasure’ – the Vindolanda Writing Tablets. Please note that this Roman Museum and excavation site is partly outside so out-door clothing is advised.
Day 3 – Enjoy this morning at leisure, this afternoon we travel to Bellingham home to Carriages tea room where we have arranged an Afternoon Tea for you. The Carriages tea room offers a unique dining experience on-board the 1957 Mark 1 Carriages.
Day 4 – Today we have arranged a full day excursion around the Northumbria Coast – via our coach! We drive to Berwick-Upon-Tweed first before enjoying a coffee stop at the Barn at Beal. This converted 19th century barn offers fantastic panorama views overlooking the Holy Island. Afterwards we drive to Bamburgh for free time, perhaps visit Bamburgh Castle one of the UK’s most iconic castles. Today we also enjoy a stop at the large village of Seahouses, home to the best fish and chips in the country.
Day 5 – After breakfast we take you to the Beamish museum, the world famous open-air museum which re-creates the story of life in North East England during the 1820s.
