Visits to Harrogate, Goathland, Whitby & Thirsk
Day 1
With a comfort stop en route, we make our way to Harrogate for free time before arriving at our hotel. Home to historic buildings and decorative gardens, Harrogate is one of Yorkshire's most elegant destinations.
DDay 2
Today we explore Heartbeat Country, travelling through the North Yorkshire Moors to the very attractive village of Goathland, the setting for the fictional village of "Aidensfield" in ITVs popular TV programme Heartbeat! Keep an eye open for one of the nostalgic steam trains of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway as they pass through the village station, which also featured as Hogsmead in the Harry Potter films. From here we continue to the bustling seaside resort of Whitby, one of the North East coast's best-loved seaside towns (and another popular Heartbeat location!)
B, DDay 3
After breakfast we visit the small market town of Thirsk, famous as the home of James Herriott whose books about life as a country vet were immortalised in the popular TV series 'All Creatures Great & Small'. Here, you will have the opportunity to travel back in time with a visit to his fully restored 1940's home and surgery, now an award-winning attraction (admission not included). After some free time, we return home.
